Working with the Thoth Tarot...

My first and only tarot deck is a Thoth deck. I bought it over fifteen years ago, along with the Book of Thoth shortly after. It looks like it might have belonged to some arboreal crone; worn and rounded edges, colors softened to a palid tan; the book annotated with obscure glyphs, taped seams, corners bent into an origami nightmare.

But despite its cozy visage, it contains a dark secret:

I have never felt remotely competent at using it for divination.

To be fair, I only began applying myself to understanding its symbolism and deeper concepts a few years ago; but even now I use it as little more than a meditation aid.
