I can’t figure out how to customize my safe house (Steam/MacOS)

I’m new to the game— less than 12 hours so far. I thought maybe the problem was I wasn’t playing a custom run, so I started again with custom settings. I don’t even see a keystroke option for moving furniture. When I try to interact with a rug nothing happens.

I’ve done a lot of searching so I didn’t waste your time with my dumb noob question but I can’t find anything. 🫤
