Started turning the game into reality (not the apocalypse part!)
I got really into this game just around 2020, around the same time I started watching a fair amount of camping/hiking YouTube. (Just a coincidence I’m sure…). Anyway, after a few years and a couple of camping and hiking trips of my own, my girlfriend and I took a trip to southern Vermont. We hiked up Mt Olga on the green mountains, from our campsite and found a fire lookout tower at the top!
The weather was quite a bit more cooperative than in my survival runs and the views included a lot more colorful leaves, but I was definitely still thinking about my time on Great Bear Island as I climbed the steps. I was so reminded of the jaunt from the ML camp office to the lookout tower and it somehow made the whole hike that much more fun. When we got back to camp, my girl got a fire going (she’s definitely got a high fire starter skills) and I cooked us up some fajitas. Lol not everything can be so authentic!
I hope the devs know how much closer to the real world their game has brought us and how much my girlfriend and myself have loved our travels that are directly inspired by Will and Astrid’s unintentional adventures. Anyone else play this game and begin making their own “walking simulator” adventures?
PS - Molly Stark State Part in Vermont is an absolutely top notch campground and site 9 handled our Hennessy hammock very well.
