Thoughts around follow up with recent clients

I work in private practice at a clinic and it has been slow lately.

The clinic owner sent a list of clients I've seen in the last 2 months who haven't rebooked and suggested contacting them in a no pressure way asking if they want to book in.

I feel very weird about this and am surprised that they are suggesting this. All these clients come sporadically/ as needed and tend to book themselves in when they feel it's helpful.

I think I feel the most icky about it because it's motivated by being slow and not genuine care ( although I do care about the clients of course). I tend to respect boundaries and that they will book in as needed. I'm not hard pressed financially myself either, not sure about the clinic though.

Curious what other people thoughts are of this and if this is something other counseling offices do?
