The one feature that got away...

The feature I'm about to describe does **NOT** exist in the game in any way without the use of mods, which I can't use

This is **NOT** the roommate system from Discover University

This is **NOT** the residential rental system from For Rent

This is **NOT** the planned stay over feature from Growing Together

I've always wanted the game to introduce a feature that allows for multiple households to live on the same active lot. For example

Sim 1 and sims 2 = my active sims that I control

Sim 3 and 4 = two other sims that function as unplayable sims and live their own independent lives.

Ideally, they would live in the house and cannot move away. They autonomously do things like form relationships, cook, clean, get married, move their spouse in, and have children of their own that are also unplayable NPCs. So like, it's neighborhood stories or story progression but on my active lot.

It would have been really cool to have this feature. I can only hope since they said they'd be working on Sim autonomy in the fall, but I think it would be really fun for storytelling to have multiple unplayed families on the same active lot. Like imagine you're sim raising a baby until it ages up to an elder without ever playing as them. Plus we have things like the parenting skill, charisma skill, research and debate skill, and a bunch of interactions to influence NPC sims. Imagine how much more rewarding it could be if we got to see the effects actively play out on screen.

Also fun fact: The household limit is 10 sims. 8 player-controlled + 2 additional roommates.

The reason this doesn't work with the previously mentioned systems

Roommates = cannot be children and will always move out

Residential Rental = the family is behind a loading screen

Planned stay over = is temporary

Let me know your thoughts 😀
