Why do you think Maggie didn't go for it? Dead City Season 2 Finale
This episode Maggie stabs Negan to save the Marshall and then runs after him to Lucille him. Ultimately she does not after seeing Ginny as a walker.
What are your thoughts on why she doesn't kill Negan and continues to work with him? Why she didn't even kill him after Herschel pratically begged her to? After seeing him as a ruthless leader again?
**For me, my take:** I think what the creators might be getting at is that Negan and Maggie have gotten so similar after so many years in the apocalypse, that Maggie despite hating this, sees her self, her hardship, and loss of friends/family/Comrades in Negan.
They have both lost so many people in their lives. Not just the amount, but many different kinds of relationships they had were lost. They both are hardened survivors. They both are natural leaders for better or worse. They both stubbornly risk their lives when they need to. They both are stuck in cycles of some sort.
In season 11, we got some similarities raised between them when Maggie kills Leah's group for instance before.
I'm not wording my thoughts super elegantly, but I'm trying to consider the complexity of these two characters and emotions I'm getting on screen.
