Saved a T420 today. Pretty happy with it.

I got this a few months back but it has a broken screen and I did not have a suitable replacement. That is until today when I found a broken laptop with the correct screen still intact. I put it in and it worked fine. Upgraded it to 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and an arch Linux install and it’s working great now. It’s really fast for a 2nd gen i5 and I’m highly considering it as a daily laptop. I just need to get a new battery for it first. I’d put in an i7 and an IPS screen but that would be very expensive so I’m just going to not do that. For now. Maybe that will change. Who knows. There’s still a lot of work to do on it but that will come later. Just wanted to share that it’s alive now. Have a great day :)
