Used T480 buying advice

I found a T480 that was allegedly bought for someone's son for college who ended up getting a Mac instead (not saying they're lying but I don't know this person). I'm pretty excited right now because I was dreaming about buying a 480 but I have a lot of expenses right now that just didn't fit in the budget. But I don't want my excitement to cloud my judgment.

Here's its specs for $600:

I5 8350u

Windows 10 pro

8gb ram (hopefully not 4+4 so I can add more)

500 gb hard drive

Intel 620

The listing say highest resolution available is 1440 but native is 1080. Don't know what that means. I feel like with the other specs chosen that they wouldn't have gotten the best screen but I don't know.

It has Microsoft office and apparently still is under warranty since it's brand new. I'd like to upgrade the ssd and I'll eventually add more ram but not immediately.

1. Do yall think the price is fair?

2. What should I look for when I go check it out?

3. Can I add an mx150 or run an eGPU
