Tifu by not turning off my house alarm

So here goes....I work all kinds of weird hours so my sleep schedule is pretty much fucked. When I sleep it's pretty hard, the wake up with a sweaty pillow hard. My wife and I have one child, a beautiful little girl who is one and sleeps in a crib in her own room. So I'm dead asleep and the house alarm goes off at about 3 am. It's so fucking loud I can't hear my wife screaming in the bed right next to me. I jump out of bed and start for the bedroom door and bam face first into the side of a half open door. I proceed to bounce off the door and pick up steam heading down the hallway to the alarm panel which is behind yet another door. I try to time my turning of the door handle with the speed of my running in the dark, which apparently I'm not very good at, and I take the entire door off the hinges and continue to the panel. At this point I somehow lose focus on why the alarm is going off, possible break in, I'm being robbed, I'm more concerned with shutting the alarm off so my baby girl isn't having a heart attack in her crib. I begin to punch in the code to turn this God awful semi truck horn sounding alarm, to which I get zero fucking response from the keypad, no beep beep beep, nothing just more horn. I try a couple more times, still nothing. I start to think how the fuck am I going to shut this bitch down. Then it hits me. There is a metal box in our closet, the brains of the alarm. If I can unhook it somehow it will stop. I sprint back down the hall back into our bedroom. I catch a glimpse of the baby monitor and the volume which lights up like a tachometer when it hears noise is going crazy. I start trying to open the metal lockbox and what do you know it's fucking lock with now key insight. I papa bear that shit off the wall like its full of honey and start ripping wires and unplugging anything I can get my finger on. At the same time I'm yelling to my wife to "Go get her! Go get her! She is probably dreaming the fuck out!" My wife disappears. After pulling on the backside of the box for what seemed like forever I finally hear silence. My wife pops her head in the closet and says "She slept through it all. She never heard any of it".

TL;DR Tifu by not shutting off my home alarm and causing $400 worth of damage to my house. Maybe I robbed myself.
