TIFU by buying my Gamescom tickets on the wrong site.
Since it already happened I just want to rant about it and if even a single person avoids my mistake thanks to this I'd at least feel like my fuck up was worth it.
So to the topic at hand.
Was already a bit stressed today but remembered that my friend and I still hadn't gotten our tickets for Gamescom. So since I was at work and that much is allowed to be done, I went ahead and quickly typed Gamescom 2019 tickets into Google. By not thinking and clicking on the first result I had fucked up already.
Viagogo, how in blazes did I think this would be the official site.
Anyway I chose the preferred date and amount of tickets. The site already telling me that only 3% of all tickets were left and that the ones I wanted were a highly sought after version. Falling for it I felt even more pressured.
Finding myself in the menu, where you enter your details and so on I'm not subtly reminded that barely any tickets are left, also a timer had started, putting me under the impression I had to hurry. (That this timer could be reset endlessly I'd only find out later)
So well the deed is done. I entered my credit card number and clicked on buy (the price being a total of 52€ - which already was a lot)
The site lights up and congratulates me on getting my tickets, before a notice pops up informing me of extra fees that were included in my purchase just now. The price now being a total of 78€. These fees being addressed as processing fee. Obviosuly they had worked hard and earned those /s
As you might be able to imagine a refund is not a thing.
Also the tickets are supposed to arrive via email one week before the event. Which to say the least sounds suspicious.
TL;DR: Bought Gamescom tickets on the wrong site (viagogo) and lost quite a bit of money as a result.
