120+ varieties waiting to get into the ground. (Zone 6b)

This is my seventh year growing tomatoes (amongst many other veggies) for sale to fine dining restaurants.

This year we have 120+ varieties and over 1400 seedlings all started from seed in a basement with simple grow light + heat mat set up in 72 cell trays. Not a single drop of fertilizer. Only collected rain waters

Over the years some personal favorites of mine (over 300 varieties) have been:

Persimmon Tasty Evergreen Afghan Black Zebra Buratino (kind of a difficult plant) Ukrainian Purple (also a bit difficult)

I’m always looking forward to what will go right this year and waiting for what will go wrong this year. Last year it was the worst drought in our county since the Great Depression.

How are you all feeling about the 2026 season?
