How do i play TiqTaq'To?

Title, mainly. Im usually a player that likes playing tall with doomstacks so i got excited over the idea of pterodactyl doomstacks but is that just not viable at all on tiq or am i controlling it totally wrong? The pterodactyl units just dont seem very strong in application to me, which is probably because i have no idea how to use them right
