Differences between Empire/Napoleon

With the new sale i'm considering purchasing a new Total War game. I've played Empire in the past on an old laptop/steam account when it first came out and enjoyed it. I have been itching to play it again. Napoleon and Empire are both very cheap and have all the DLCs with them. I really only want one because i'm currently deep in other total war campaigns and other games. What are the major differences between the two? I have heard Napoleon is better than Empire. Any recommendations from those who have played both?
