a moment of self awareness

As much as I've been enjoying the parade of tragedeighs on this fine sub, I realized that I may have committed one of my own. my ex and I named our second son Thommas. while (hopefully) not as cringe inducing as some, I think it does qualify. he is now 21 and goes by Tom, so probably no long term damage. But does it qualify, or is it close enough to the typical spellings to slide?
