Indian e-visa wait at airport

Does anyone know if the lines to get into the country are significantly longer with an e-visa vs having a 5 year multiple entry visa from the consulate at the Mumbai and Delhi airports?

Wondering if it’s worth taking a day to go to the consulate in Houston and getting all the paperwork there vs just doing it all online.
