What is the proper way to re-apply to the same crew you worked with the previous year?

In 2025 I worked with a planting crew in New Brunswick until the end of the Fall season, and I want to join the same crew for spring/summer in 2026. Do I send my resume & CV to them again? Or would it be better to just ask directly if I can join them?
