What to use for debilitating back pain?

My husband has been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and facet arthritis. He's in extreme pain most of the day. Smoking flower and vaping used to help dull the pain but now it isn't doing anything to help him. Edibles make him green out but he's only tried THC ones and not ones with CBD/CBG, which I hear is great for pain like this. Edibles also take too long for the relief he needs. We've also tried a balm but it did absolutely nothing.

We saw someone on tiktok (I know, probably not the best source) talking about inserting THC oil in the body (vaginally or anally). The reasoning was there's cannabinoid receptors in those areas that are great for deep back/hip pain relief. I don't know what they mean by oil or if there's anything designed specifically for those entrances like a suppository. If anyone has information on this please let me know.

I've also heard of sublinguals but I can't seem to find any at the dispensaries near me. I've seen pills/capsules too but like with edibles, they're just THC and might make him green out.

All suggestions welcome, THC-free ones too as he needs a way to manage this while working (and he does not function well high in public lol).
