How important is a good name for the success of a game?

This is a topic that has been on my mind for a while. The game name is often the first thing a potential customer notices about a game. Even before watching the trailer, the name of the title is present.

So the question is: How important is the name of a game?

A few examples:

**Spec Ops: The Line**

I have to admit, I haven't played the game yet, but I've read a lot of positive things about it. The name is so lame that I just never found the motivation to start the game, even though it's in my Steam library.

**Legends of Runeterra**

A card game from Riot Games. Although I like the game a lot, it doesn't seem to have the success I think it deserves. There can be many reasons for this, but the name can be one of them. Some people call it by the full name, some say Runeterra and others just say LoR (which sounds kinda weird imo).

In the end I think that names that contain several words are generally worse to market than concise one-word names.

We know enough examples of cool, short names. In my opinion, Blizzard is doing a good job with this. We have Warcraft, Overwatch, Starcraft, Diablo, Hearthstone, etc.

Short, yet effective.

Do you have similar examples or even counter-examples? Do you think there is a correlation? Are games with good names usually more successful? Let me know.
