Truenas Scale SMB share empty on mac

Good afternoon. Set up a SMB share for our marketing department, who are running macs. When I go to "smb:server/Marketing" it's blank, but if I go to "smb:server/Marketing/subdir" it lists all of the files/folders. I've logged into a windows workstation with the same active directory user, and I can access all of the files/folders at "\\\\server\\Marketing" including the DFS links.

What's weird is that another user on the same macbook can access the files in the root share fine, and she's not in any extra security groups that are used in this share.
