NAS drives for TrueNAS or No??

Should I (could I) use NAS hard drives in my TrueNAS desktop?

Its nothing fancy, an older Asus E35MI-1. TrueNAS is on a 160GB 2.5 drive. I don't plan on doing anything heavy duty, mainly backup and I wanted to build a new box and play around with TrueNAS.
