It Bothers Me How Bombastic This Administration Is At Times
I really like what this administration is doing, enough that I put my time into moderating this sub. Well we get some anti-Trump people in here trolling with questions like "is there anything you don't like to prove you're not in a cult". Well here ya go...
It really bothers me when they are bombastic to the point of it being clearly false and denigrating those who came before. The "greatest ever" type stuff. There's salesmanship, and then there's spitting on our history and the heroes of the past.
What sparked me to post this, is something Pete Hegseth said today. We're rather used to this stuff from Trump, it's how he is, but I don't think he's ever said anything that bothered me as much as what Hegseth said.
He said: "President Trump directed the most complex and secretive military operation in history."
That's just complete bullshit that demeans the work, risk, and sacrifices of the great many heroes of the past. Pete's a smart guy he must know of the [Doolittle raid](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doolittle_Raid). Sure, this bombing of Iran's nuclear infrastructure was impressive and highly technical but as far as being "most complex and secretive military operation in history", no way. It's nothing compared to the Doolittle raid and many other military operations of the past.
Even in very recent history there's better examples of "most complex and secretive military operation in history". We at times mock Zelenskyy but Operation Spiders Web was damn impressive, most of all given their resources.
Again, I really like Trump, this was an impressive mission, and while we don't know I bet Trump even added some of his own ideas to the plan. I'd think it a reasonable assumption that the subterfuge was Trump's idea. But using the might of the US Military with the B-2 bombers, F-22s, aircraft carriers, subs, etc. to bomb Iran after Israel had beat them down. Is like using a Ferrari to win a race with a Hyundai after your pall flattened all it's tires. Doing so doesn't make you better than Ayrton Senna.
