Glucose Gel

I am a Type 1 diabetic and normally carry several glucose gel packs (1.1oz each) in case I need to treat urgent low blood sugar.

They are NOT prescription and I usually carry them in my pocket. Will this be allowed or do I need to put them in my carry-on with other medical supplies? If I need to put them in the carry-on would they fall under the liquids restrictions or are they exempt since they are for a medical reason even though they are not prescription?
