Laurel’s soul mate

Does anybody else find it weird that Laurel calls Susannah her soulmate? She’d leave her husband at home and spend the entire summer with her? Her ex hinted that this contributed to their divorce. Maybe they can have a normal marriage now that Susannah is dead?
