ISO good psychiatrist in Tulsa metro

Hi everyone! I’m really hoping this community can help me out because I’m having a tough time with this.

Here’s my situation:

My husband is Bipolar II and his primary doctor is prescribing his Latuda (which was originally prescribed by a psychiatrist before he moved here) ,which is a drug that we know alleviates most of his symptoms but it does NOTHING for his anxiety. The primary doctor prescribed Buspar and Hydroxyzine but nothing is helping. The doctor knows and we know that he needs to see a psychiatrist but his insurance is making that more difficult than I’d prefer.

My husband is employed through Hillcrest so he can only see Hillcrest doctors or doctors in private practice. He can’t see anyone at Laureate, for example.

I’ve looked online but the psychiatrists that he could see have horrible ratings. I saw one place called UKPsych that I was actually excited about until I found a post here with tons of complaints about them lol.

I also want to clarify that my husband isn’t looking for benzos for his anxiety and we’d both say “hell no” if a doc offered him a prescription for some. We just don’t know if he needs a medication adjustment and our primary doctor is the first one to admit that adjusting treatment for a bipolar patient is outside his scope of practice.

Is there anyone in the area y’all could recommend? If absolutely necessary, we could probably do telehealth appointments with a psychiatrist but I’m just lost as to how to best help him here.

I think we’re going to call Crossroads soon- nothing against MindSpa but the reviews for the doctor there are *very* interesting. As long as everyone is getting the care they need though, that’s what matters! Thank you all so much!
