Trying to help a guy out with his Victrola turntable and hopefully a better setup soon but....

There's a young guy I know in his 20's that has one of the Victrola Journey suitcase players...yeah he wants better but money is an issue. I've got a really nice Technics mid 90's home theatre receiver that was given to me. It's got all kinds of inputs including phono, A/V, CD, Tape etc...His Victrola player shows RCA outputs on the back. Am I correct in that those are line level outputs? If so, I'm thinking of giving him the Technics receiver, and he can connect the cheap Victrola to it for now. Not sure how the sound quality will be, but not sure it can be worse than he has now lol. In the near future hopefully he can find a good used turntable and then he will already have a nice receiver.
