Turn Table Recommendations
New to Vinyl collecting and turn tables here! I just bought my second Victrola Suitcase Record Player (First one was gifted to me by an ex and it wasn't my style anymore so i sold it and upgraded) and I've started collecting records again recently. I have some that aren't valuable at all but I have a couple that are collectors items that I still intend to play.
Within the past couple of days I've been deep-diving on reddit and Google to learn more about record players and vinyl preservation...and the general consensus has been that Suitcase Record Players are not good for long term use, or for use of playing valuable records due to risk of damaging them. Both of my Suitcase players have worked fine for me and give my decent sound, but it doesn't feel worth it for long term if it's gonna damage my pricey records down the line..
I'm not an extreme audiophile by any means, in fact I don't mind a bit of crackle and popping from my vinyls, I think it sounds nice..but I want to be able to play my collectors records with as minimal risk to damaging them as possible..and not having to replace my turntable for a long time, if not a lifetime. Any recommendations for a decent, sturdy record player/turn table that you all would trust with your valuable records? I'm okay with vintage or new, and explanations are appreciated as I am very new to all of this ππ Thank you in advance βΊοΈ
