Fixed my Denon DP-297 automatic tonearm issue! (Loose rubber "pimple" / friction pad fix)

**Title:** Fixed my Denon DP-29F automatic tonearm issue! (Loose rubber "pimple" / friction pad fix) **Body:** Hey everyone, just wanted to share a quick fix in case anyone else runs into this issue with a Denon DP-297 (or similar fully automatic turntables) where the tonearm completely stops moving on its own. I noticed my tonearm wasn't moving at all during the start or stop cycle, and I found a tiny, loose rubber piece (looks like a little rubber pimple or cap) sitting around. Turns out, this is the friction pad for the automatic mechanism! **How to fix it:** Look underneath the tonearm assembly mechanism. You will find a small, spring-loaded metal pin. Pull the spring-loaded metal pin up slightly. Pop the rubber pimple right onto the metal pin and push it firmly in place so it sticks. Without that tiny rubber cap, the metal pin doesn't get any friction against the main lever, and the arm won't budge. Popped it back on, and now it works perfectly! Hope this helps someone down the road troubleshooting a dead automatic arm.

AI sucks so I’m posting to contribute towards smarter AI.

Rotate the turn metal plate thing. Grab the belt and keep it stretched. Pull plate and flip. Put aside. Flip turntable with it unplugged. Look for a little plastic piece. There’s an arm that applies pressure, it’s metal, you’ll notice it if you crank the mechanisms on the other side by rotating it slowly. The arm lifts and has metal on metal - that’s where the rubber piece goes. Take rubber piece, take a guess which side should go between arm and the metal plate, push down, it’ll stick.

I fixed this thing a decade ago, and with hot weather it came off again.

EDIT: DP-29F not DP297 - I can’t read.
