Question from renter.. Pre-trip photos

The host for my rental is bringing me the car at an arrivals airport lane. Typically this area is extremely busy and patrolled often for people not immediately picking up or dropping off.

How would I go about taking accurate pretrip photos? Is it generally acceptable to drive 5 minutes to a gas station and take these or could this bite me? Or do I just say screw it and sit there for 5 minutes and take quick photos? Thanks
