Story Opinion Question

This may have been covered before and I apologize if so. Even though I bought TP at launch and completed it and all, for some reason the story just didn't click with me. I thought it was too similar to LTTP's story, which at the time was a lot of new stuff for the series.

I know a lot of people praise the story in TP and I'm wondering why I see it differently and if I'm missing something. Maybe part of it is that it was the first Zelda game for younger folks? My first Zelda game was LOZ on the NES (I'm 40 years old), so maybe that has something to do with it?

IIRC, at least 1, maybe more of the special items you need to get to progress through the game was just given to you in a cutscene with no dungeon or anything, I'm not a fan of that type of thing personally. Maybe a dungeon or 2 had to be cut during development? I don't remember if they had to do that or not.

I did think the gameplay was fairly decent and the final boss battle was pretty cool. The music in the game was also pretty good, I even own the soundtrack CD and played it a lot for a few years. Some of the new items were cool, but they were used far too little to make a big impact IMO.

If you love it, that's great. I'm just wondering what you all love about it story wise. Thanks for any input and FWIW, I hope those of you who love the game get a remaster/remake for Switch.
