Favorite Card Combos

I am one of those people who has played this game a hundred times (probably an undercount). A huge reason for why players like me are successful against new players is quite simple: card knowledge.

For example, a post here about a month ago talked about making COMECON Trap the standard USSR setup — the consensus, correctly, was that it is a sub optimal play. Still… I remember how cool it was when I used COMECON Trap successfully on AR1 as the USSR.

I wonder if part of the attraction to sub optimal plays is that they are just COOL when they work; after all that’s part of the fun of the game. So I am wondering, for the vets out there: tell us about some of your favorite 2-3-4 card combination plays!

A couple of ideas to get us rolling:

1) USA Late War: Chernobyl/Tear Down This Wall/JP2 + Solidarity

2) USA Mid War Asia Push: Ussuri River Skirmish + China Card

3) USSR Mideast Early War Bullrush: Arab Israeli War headline/Iran coup AR1

What other combination plays do y’all enjoy?
