How was I supposed to be notified about registering for Spring classes?

I check my UCR emails maybe 3x a week, and my personal email 3x a day. I never received any notification about registering for Spring classes. Of course now everything I want/need is full. How was I supposed to be contacted and by whom about when I could register?
