If some aliens are telepathic when are we ever getting disclosure

How would we able to have any sort of dialogue with a telepathic being who can know when we are being dishonest as humans tend to be. I think that disclosure will happen once humans reach the next stage of evolution and are able to communicate openly with advanced beings . Not before.
