Treatment of POWs
I just wanted to mention again how humanly the Ukrainian Military is treating POWs (or at least is going through great effort to appear as they are).
Letting POWs call home and tell their families they're alive and okay (or getting medical treatment) is incredible. They're getting a much longer phone call with their families than I got when I arrived at Basic Training (quite literally: 'I made to to Fort Knox and am starting training. I love yall').
Put yourselves in the shoes of the Russian soldier's family. If they've been told anything at all they've been told that their loved one is missing and they don't know the status of them. They don't know if their alive, dead, dying, hurt, being tortured etc and their imaginations are taking them to the worst places possible but to hear their loved one's voice reassuring them must be heaven on earth, the next best thing to having them back at home.
This has set a new standard in the treatment of POWs.
