Possible for Mac to support 7680x2160 over HDMI? or DisplayPort only?

Hey folks, I have an Odyssey Neo G9 and I've been using it with my M4 Pro Macbook over DisplayPort for a while. Using DisplayPort it drives the display's native resolution with no issue. However, I recently ordered a USB-C to HDMI 2.1 cable because I was hoping to free up the DisplayPort for a 2nd computer. Over HDMI, the max resolution available is 5120x1440. Is it possible to drive the full native res over HDMI? Or DisplayPort only?
