Stuck at “Reviewing Applications”

Hi all,

Earlier this year I applied for a position that met my career field and experience (I am prior Navy), the only negative was that it would’ve required me to relocate. That application proceeded to stage 2 before I got the email that I wasn’t chosen. No biggie.

This time, I noticed the same class of job located in my area and wasted no time applying. I kept all my documents from the previous application and only changed the date on my cover letter.

The job closed September 23. October 1, I got the “minimally qualified” email in my inbox. So far, so good.

My partner, who works at the VA, said it usually takes the hiring manager 10 business days to give a response… but I think that was just their specific situation. The job applied for was through AFCS.

I’ve seen some of the other posts in here about having to wait a long time, so I am learning to manage my expectations. My instinct in this situation is to want to call the 1-800 number they provided and speak to someone about the status, but have no clue if that is even warranted. It didn’t take this much time last time to get a response, so I don’t know what could be happening on their end.

Also, out of curiosity, when it says that there are x number of applicants, does that number include your own? Just wondering… Thx! 🙏🏼
