1.0 dedicated server stability mods?

Currently running a dedicated server, with at most 4 players on at a time, and the performance in the Deep North is abysmal sometimes. Bad rubber banding, disconnects, it's hard for my friends and I to play together.

What mods could my friends and I install to help improve performance? What have y'all done to make your dedicated servers more workable? Currently running the server on a Docker container, with about 16 gigs of ram, never hits 100% so I know it's not due to my system.
