How do you decorate your portals?

For those of you that like to make things look nice, how do you do it?

I'm about to go fight BoneAss but out of desperation for decoration, I snuck into the plains for some tar and died a lot and a Lox destroyed my portal and is now guarding my corpse. So now I'm just wandering around the base naked as a troll playing architect simulator while I wait for my mates to escort me. With just the basic wood and stone, it's really hard to make anything that actually looks good around the portals.
