I'm so sad

My friend hosts a long term server and we have been playing for months. I'm the group's builder and I had built a small city for us. A black marble castle, a stone armory, a stone items cache, a mead hall, a portal hall, a dock with a bridge out into the water with a road leading to it from our city, hell we even had a statute in the middle of the city. Most buildings I had decorated to give a rested bonus of 18+

I had buried over 80 work benches and had spent days just laying a stone foundation under everything. I had drew up blueprints for everything on grid paper. This was my city

Yesterday he told me the server crashed and destroyed all our backups. Everything is gone. He opened a ticket with the server and they gave him a free month. That's it.

I'm devastated. I just needed to tell someone

As many have mentioned, it's just an opportunity to create a better city in the next build. I'll definitely talk to my friend about access so I can create regular backups locally.
