I don’t know where the seed of this flower came from
Nor what nourished its growth
I don’t know how long it took to germinate
But I do know the moment the flower bloomed
A day of thanks stained by an invisible spill
Overfull with squalid fruits the flower in my soul now blooms
Its petals unfurled spewing forth compassion and remorse in equal measure
I pled forgiveness; I knew not what I had done
taller than the Burj Khalifa
roots deeper than the Mariana Trench
Its forgiveness surpasses the buddha
Its resolute design eclipsing the pyramids
Its gifts more splendid than heaven
And truths more brutal than the depths of hell
Resolve stronger than the hardest steels
I have become this flower and this flower is me
