Verizon Downgrades Unlimited Plans

Hello /r/Verizon.

Earlier today, Verizon [launched a new unlimited plan for both new and existing customers](https://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Verizon-Begins-Heavily-Throttling-Video-140178), one that downgrades their previous offering.

The new plan is as follows:

> **Go Unlimited**: $75/month for one line. Video capped to 480p on smartphones, 720p on tablets.

> **Beyond Unlimited**: $85/month for one line. Video capped to 720p on smartphones, 1080p on tablets.

> **Business Unlimited**: Price varies. Video capped to 480p on smartphones, 720p on tablets.

Not only does the effect new customers, but it also effects existing customers.

Yes, you heard that right. Verizon is **downgrading** existing unlimited customers to this new "unlimited" plan.

While this is not illegal, it is extremely unethical on Verizon's part.

A carrier that is **losing** subscribers, and was forced to launch an unlimited plan to mitigate that, has now reversed course, and put full efforts into not only turing away potential customers, but also p***ing off existing ones.

/r/Verizon is are a strong community, with a large following and outreach.

Earlier in the month, we made waves, when we launched [ consumer pushback on Verizon for Netflix throttling](https://www.reddit.com/r/verizon/comments/6ogu9s/netflix_throttle_megathread/). Our topic was posted allover the internet, on every major tech site, and Verizon backed down.

Let's do the same thing here with Verizon's new unlimited plan.

Verizon unlimited customers who have been downgraded unexpectedly, and potential customers who were considering Verizon's former unlimited plan, let Verizon know how you truly feel about this decision.

We won the Netflix battle, we can win the unlimited battle, too!

Let's get back unlimited!

/u/evan248 and /u/ilovesojulee informed me that Verizon's throttling move effects **all** plans, including gUDP and even **tiered** plans, too.

Looks like the Un-Carrier's third quarter subscriber additions will be off the charts.
