First Vibecoded Game - "Splashtime" - Not really a true project, just a few evenings spent with Gemini in AI Studio

Last week, I watched a video showing off some cool simulations people had oneshotted with Gemini so I loaded up AI Studio and asked it for a "wave simulation" that would let me adjust the intensity, the direction, and the speed of the waves.

It did not disappoint.

Then I thought "It would be cool to pilot a little boat across that" and over about 200 prompts of explanations and bugfixes and only occasionally refreshing the context (it does start to change things deep in the code when the context hits about 70k tokens) I have ended up with this.

I didn't really know where to share it, usually I frequent the local LLM subs, but I was so blown away by Gemeni I couldn't stop playing with it, and here we are.

The images are made with ChatGPT's recent image model, the music is suno v4, and the remaining handful of sound effects are from pixabay and the like.

It certainly isn't amazing or anything, but I'm fairly happy with the way it controls and the method it implemented for keeping the little craft oriented on the waves. It even just made the player character model on its own (though I did adjust some values manually to change the shapes here and there slightly.)

Anyway, would love to know what people think about it.
