Vibe coded a first-person dungeon crawler based on my tabletop RPG world

I published a tabletop RPG back in 2006 that consisted of several books over a few years. I recently released a 20th anniversary Kindle and PDF version. A couple weeks ago I decided to turn it into a browser game, and about \~12 hours of work later I have a fully playable Wizardry-style dungeon crawler that I'm pretty happy with. At least it will keep me occupied on BART...

I used Claude Code to write the core of it. Stack is Vite + vanilla JS, Supabase for auth and cloud saves, Vercel for hosting, and Gemini for art. Hosting is free, only real cost was $10 in Gemini API credits which I didn't actually use yet but had to pay their minimum to enable the API.

**What's in the game?**

* First-person pseudo-3D renderer, 320×240 canvas, three dungeon levels * Turn-based combat with spells, status effects, and 11 lore-accurate monsters with painted portraits * Companion system: hire party members at the inn, build reputation through dungeon runs and quests, unlock personal quests at 75 friendship, bond scene at 100 (Best Friend or Romance) * Cloud saves that sync across devices, installs as a PWA * A job board with faction contracts, an inn management screen, camp rest with companion dialogue

Having all that existing lore to feed in made a huge difference. The richer the source material the better the output.

I'm gonna continue to update it a bit more and then consider putting it on Google Play if there is enough positive feedback and interest after a few weeks.
