Can anyone help me with the name of a video game?

Years ago I read a GameInformer magazine and came across Top 10 most annoying things in games. One of them was describing a moment in the RPG/adventure game that you walk into town and see a car chasing a mouse in the background. Normally you would ignore it thinking it was normal. If you don't save the mouse, the cat will catch it and kill it. Later in the game you are tied up in a cellar or a cage, Something, and you can't get out. Had the mouse lived, in others words, you saving it, it would've came through a hole and chewed through the ropes and set you free. Since the mouse is dead, you just stuck in the cellar, not able to progress. Does ANYONE know what the hell I'm talking about? TIA.
