3D MTS from Sony HDR TD10 to single video file
Hi! I just bought a used Sony HDR TD10 3D camcorder for capturing very amateur music video and b-roll footage for my band.
I noticed that the camera’s display shows a “glasses-less 3d” version of the 3D video which seems like it’s mashing the perspective from both lenses into a single image, which doubles up any close objects on screen and looks a lot like when you cross your eyes.
When I brought the MTS file to my pc, VLC only displays the “main” channel from the file. I know that some video editing software allows the use of both channels but I was wondering if there were any small applications that could just mash both perspectives into the same channel and create the trippy look I’m getting on the camcorder’s display.
I don’t have any video editing software just yet and my only experience is with windows movie maker back in the day, although I’m pretty tech savvy and am open to any options. I’ll likely have some friends edit the raw footage once we’re done filming so I really just need something to turn the 3D MTS file into a normal file with a single image that doubles up both perspectives from the two channels (not sure if channel is even the correct term).
