Thoughts on using colored lights vs using white lights and coloring in post?

I'll be doing a music video soon in a sort of small space and the artist wants a sort of "flooded in color" effect that might change from red to yellow to blue etc. I'm wondering if I should bother with colored lighting or just shoot it all in white and grade it in post so I have the ultimate flexibility in timing. Any major cons to doing it that way?
