Found this voice recording of my grandfather from the 30s, is there anything I can do to clean this before trying to play it?

Basically this is a very old record that was used for army vets to make voice recordings for their family. I wanted to play this, but is there any precaution I should take first? How badly would this mess up my needle? I’m working with a pretty good needle from Grado that’s got some usage. Trying to ask questions before ruining my needle or this record first. Any help is appreciated!
