Has VR been underwhelming for a noobie?

I got intrigued by this whole VR thing after seeing the Apple Vision Pro a couple days ago annd because of all the hype. Was turned off by the 3500 price tag. Then after doing some research found that the Quest 3 for 500 is best bang for buck and great for someone who is new to VR.

So I think in a couple days I'll buy the quest 3.

I know this is a you won't know how it is until you try it but can the experience be underwhelming?

I heard if the video isn't 8k or 12k it is blurry and 360 content is limited?

Is 3D the same as 360?

I don't like the idea of walking with the headset because a shaking screen doesn't seem great but I could see myself after a long day climb into bed and lay on my back with the head looking up. Have any of you tried reading this way? How about falling asleep with the headset still on?

And could I connect a headphone to it to watch a movie on the big screen while laying on my back with head on pillow?

I just like the idea of having not to sit at a computer or hold up a phone after a long day and instead just be able to see what I need to see in a large format and if needed be able to use my hands to adjust something.

I also have a Asus 17in i7 4gb graphics with 16gb ram and 1TB SSD laptop. Idk if this is VR ready or what not? Is this enough for the computing experience? I read about some users having beefed up computers and what not?

And final question if I where to buy the quest 3 I just feel I would be missing out on something compared to the 3500 apple vision pro. But a lot of people are saying I wouldn't be missing out on much?
