6.4.4-2 on mac - 'The application “WacomTouchDriver” is not open anymore'

Cintiq Pro 32 (DTH-3220)

Mac Studio M2 Ultra (connected through USB-C)

Ventura 13.6 (22G120)

I updated to the latest driver last night and got this error after about 15 minutes -

'The application “WacomTouchDriver” is not open anymore'

The Wacom system preferences then showed no device was detected and the Wacom center was empty - deviceless. I rebooted before finishing work and it was fine then I woke this morning to see dozen of "The application "WacomTouchDriver" is not open anymore" alert windows tiling down the desktop. Screen works fine (I'm typing these words on it) but the pen is sporadically bricking. Making it unusable. Reinstalling the driver gives me 10 or so minutes of full functionality and then the pen stops working again.

What's the fastest way that I can restore reliable functionality on a workday?

EDIT - I've noticed that the wacom icon in my top menu bar is disappearing every few minutes then coming back again. I coincides with the Wacom Center going blank. These problems weren't present before the new driver install
