8 years ago, we launched a free GPS game - our players just hit 20 billion steps total.

Our small Canadian indie team has been running a GPS-based retro game (Orna RPG) for 8 years now, that turns your neighbourhood into a walkable fantasy world.

We originally designed it just to be a fun, old-school adventure map, and yes, the Pokemon GO craze was still quite HOT.

But over 8 years, our community of hardcore gamers has walked over 20 billion steps. We get messages every week from players who use the game specifically to hit their 10k daily step goals, manage their social anxiety by exploring quiet neighbourhoods, or find the motivation to leave the house.

Naturally, we are fascinated by gamified fitness—but it was never our main goal.

We've since added a lot more 'fitness motivation' content into the gameplay itself...but we want to know, from the perspective of those of you who walk daily with real intention, what non-traditional apps or games (if any) would you recommend, or do you use, that help make it more enjoyable for you?
