Does Walmart require signatures on packages worth $500+ ? Why would they use Lasership on a $600 item?

I am having a laptop from [Walmart.com](https://Walmart.com) delivered to my house. I thought it would be okay since Walmart usually ships with FedEx. But I found out they are sending it with \*cringe\* Lasership, the worst of all American shipping companies. Does [Walmart.com](https://Walmart.com) at least require a signature for packages valued at over $500? Oddly, Walmart is sending a beach towel I ordered in the same order separately with FedEx. Why use the better more secure delivery service for a $5 item and use the worst delivery service on a $600 item?
